Shape it up

Hi, 2020 does not disappoint but I hope for a fabulous 2021 for everyone! I wanted to share with you a fun seasonal project that is easy and creative. Let’s check it out.

I enjoy making all types of cards and with the slimline card taking over the crafting community, I thought it would be fun to throw another idea in the ring. Shape cards! I love ordering fold it cards from The Stamps of Life and I enjoy getting creative with my craft stash, so I mixed the two together.

First I use a die that has a shadow layer. I fold an 8.5 x 11 piece of card stock and place my shadow layer (blade side up so you are not cutting into your cutting pad). I choose a side that would best be used to open the card so it can stand up and I place the paper over the die with about 1/4″ of the die showing on the fold as the picture shows. Now I am ready to feed it through my die cutting machine. Once completed you have a shaped card!

Next, I stamp the image and color as desired or I cut the same image to create a second piece. Place this extra piece over the card, it will cover the fold so it looks like one image. Decorate your card as you want, you are the creative genius in the scenario. These are fun creative cards and will defiantly be one of a kind.

Let me know in the comments what kind if shaped cards you would like to create with your stash of die cuts. Please check out my Instagram @sewmuchglitter to see the spooky fun that I am having with this fabulous stamp and die set! As always, if I have inspired you please tag me and use #sewmuchglitter so we can all inspire each other.

Let’s hope 2020 calms down now that the holidays are approaching and we can ring in a peaceful 2021! I have been going through some transitions and have not been able to keep a schedule but plan to do so in the coming days.
